Looking to upgrade the cornerback position, the Jets claimed Leon McFadden of waivers. McFadden, a former 2013 third-round pick was released by the Browns yesterday during when teams were required to cut their rosters down to 53.
In his rookie season, McFadden played in all 16 games including two starts and recorded 19 total tackles (four on special teams) and one pass deflection. As per league rules, McFadden will be added to the Jets 53-man roster. In order to make room for McFadden, the team released cornerback LeQuan Lewis.
