Braylon coming back makes sense. There is more to sports than obscure stats, ie profootball's -4.7 overall grade. There is a heartbeat to this game as well.

writer,

That braylon-ship may have sailed THEN but it's coming back into port NOW considering that based on his comments, he has no hard feelings on the Jets and will come quite cheap this time around.

All Tanny has to do is remove his head from his ass and bring Braylon in for a physical to see the status of his knee and if everything is good, OFFER HIM AN INCENTIVE-LADEN CONTRACT!!

Tanny could ALSO go after Meachum to replace Burress as well....

I truly appreciate the article. It actually makes sense. As for Braylon... Maybe he has personal issues, maybe the Jets did not want or like his attitude, maybe he did crappy for the Niners, maybe he was in Mangini's doghouse... but during his time with the Jets, he produced. Thats all that matters! He was a difference maker that opened doors for Holmes. He had a chemistry with Sanchez that i never sensed with Burress (what a waste of time and money, huh?).And to dump Cotchery, why? He was a tenured supporter that did nothing short of give everything every down. I just dont get it. I realy think Rex got WAY too ahead of himself and made vital mistakes last year. With a QB like Sanchise, you gotta build a rapport with his receivers. I hate to say it, but he is simply not good enough to be a top notch QB. Lets see some more McElroy with the starting team in preseason and practice. Why not? He impressed me with his resilience last year and made some really nice throws... Against 2nd team defenses of course.

Thanks Jellis, I appreciate it.

John - I mentioned this in the defensive article. I believe the Braylon ship has sailed. The Jets made the decision to move on from him last year (a decision that went beyond his play on the field) and he hasn't done anything that would make me think they team has changed their mind. Also while I don't dispute what you're saying about his chemistry with Sanchez I think fans are romanticizing a bit much and misremembering just how effective he was in his time here (Pro Football Focus gave him a -4.7 overall grade for his only full season here).

He made some big time plays in crucial moments and that what sticks in fans memories, what many seem to forget is how easily he would disappear and be a non-factor. I also think that the 49ers being the only team to offer him anything at all is a clear sign that the rest of the league sees what the Jets saw.

What about braylon coming back? He seemed to leave the proverbial door open for a return with his recent comments. We know that he has good chemistry with sanchez and he should be relatively cheap because of the poor season he just had. He seems perfect for a one year deal that will allow him to rehab his image (both on and off the field).
