Jets rookie quarterback Erik Ainge has been suspended four games for violating the NFL Policy on Steroids and Related Substances, an NFL spokesperson announced in a statement.
Ainge’s suspension begins immediately and he will not be eligible to rejoin the team until Monday Dec. 15, following the Jets’ Dec. 14 matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Ainge, who was drafted in the fifth round (162nd overall) of April’s NFL Draft, was placed on Injured Reserve on Oct. 28 due to a right foot injury.
Ainge is the second Jet to be suspended this season for violating the Steroids and Related Substances policy. Running back Jesse Chatman was suspended for four games on Aug. 29.
