Injury Report: Clements Questionable
After missing practice the following two days with a fractured thumb, Clements sat out today’s session and is listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s matchup with the Jets. The Sacramento Bee is reporting that Clements revealed today that he had surgery Tuesday on the injured thumb. His absence would be a significant blow for the 49ers’ defense, which has intercepted only ten passes this season (22nd in NFL). If Clements is unable to play, either Donald Strickland (31 tackles) or Tarell Brown (24 tackles, one interception) could start.
For the Jets, linebacker David Harris is listed as “questionable” for Sunday. Harris has missed the following five weeks after he injured his groin in the Jets 28-24 win over the Chiefs on Oct. 26.
“He’s had a couple of good days,” head coach Eric Mangini said of Harris. “He had some good days last week. We’re going to go through today and make sure that he’s as ready as possible. We’ve waited quite a bit of time to make sure he is a full-go. We won’t short change that process.”
