Clowney Debut on Sunday?

Jets wide receiver Brad Smith is listed as “doubtful” for Sunday’s matchup with the Bills after suffering a concussion during the fourth quarter of last week’s loss to the 49ers. Smith did not practice all week. While David Clowney remains the likely replacement if Smith is unable to play, head coach Eric ManginiĀ suggested there are “two to three different candidates” that could replace Smith.

“There a lot of candidates. Brad is so instrumental in the special teams game that you’re not just filling the receiver role, you’re feeling those roles that he plays on teams, if he weren’t able to play. You have to look at it two-fold,” Mangini said.

Mangini described Clowney as an “excellent candidate” because of his special teams abilities.
