Jets Sign Top Pick Dee Milliner

CORTLAND, N.Y.— The much anticipated arrival of former Alabama All-American cornerback Dee Milliner is finally here. After holding out for the first three days of training camp, the Jets’ top pick in this year’s NFL draft, has reached a four-year contract agreement with the team. The Jets announced the deal – reportedly a four-year, $12.66 million contract – Sunday night. Milliner was the ninth overall selection in this year’s NFL draft.

Milliner, who led the Crimson Tide secondary to a second straight National Championship last season, is expected to compete for a spot in the Jets’ starting lineup opposite Antonio Cromartie, a Pro Bowl selection in 2012. Many are expecting Milliner to alleviate the loss of Darrelle Revis, who is considered the NFL’s best cornerback.  Revis was traded by the Jets to Tampa Bay back in April. Milliner will report to SUNY-Cortland for practice on Monday.
