View Full Version : Hakeem Nicks is super smart...

I'm being told. A scout tried to trick him with some questions but the kid came out shining. He understands the game like a 10 year pro, watch out for him...when all is said and done he may be the best WR of this draft.

I'm really really high on Nicks, would love to have him.

I'm just don't think we'll draft a WR in the first, and I doubt he'll be around at our pick come round two...

Nicks = Beast.

If we drafted him or Britt at 17, I'd be really happy.

He's moved up to my #3 WR in this draft after Crabtree and Maclin.

Good WR class...

4.49 forty, great intagibles and a natural WR.

But after the WR workouts yesterday, there were a lot of WR's who impressed.

I'm hoping for Jeremy Maclin to slide to us at 17 or Kenny Britt or Hakeem Nicks sliding to us in the second round.

Robiskie is moving up too. Right now the consensus is:

1) Crabtree
2) Heyward Bey
3) Maclin
4) Nicks
5) Harvin
6) Britt
7) Robiskie

and I don't see 7 WR's taken in the first round, so there will be a nice WR there when we pick.

A WR like Nicks will be hard to pass on -- seems like its going to be CB/WR in the first and second. Of course, taking a CB is my preference but I trust T-Rex's eye for talent.

If we take Nicks in the first, then Coye Francies (out of San Jose State / Lowery's alma mater) would be a solid CB in the second round.

Consensus of DHB at #2? I don't see it happening that way on draft day. JMO.

+1

Of course right now we just don't know what will happen in the Trade/FA period. But my feeling is Rex will still put a premium on defense, especially CB , in 1st round; then may go WR in the 2nd or 3rd. Ryan is pretty much telling us he's going with the young QBs, and wants to have a top five defense and strong running game to back them up.

So yea...I like Britt-Nicks-Robiskie...but not at pick#17.

On Robiskie, beware of workout warriors from Ohio State. Check his stats from last year, he didn't dominate in any game. The game film doesn't lie.

Brian Robiskie is hardly a workout warrior, yes his 40 time was a bit of a surprise, but everything else was not. His father played in the league and has been one of the best WR coaches in the NFL for years, so Brian has a thorough understanding of the position. He is probably the best route runner in the draft and has great hands.

never mind the fact the passing game at OSU last year was pure sh!t because of the QB play...

btw- disagree about him being the best route runner; Mike Thomas, Quan Cosby and that Johnny Knox from ACU run scissor sharp routes...

I've seen every game Robiskie has ever played.....he didn't dominate in 2008 cause he had Pryor, a Freshman QB, playing the option most of the time and having a very inconsistent arm.

Robiskie will be a good #2 NFL receiver.......he's smart, team captain, great hands, blocks well and runs outstanding routes. He will never be a game changer, playmaker type. I'm projecting Mid Rd 2 to early Rd 3 at worst for Robo.

This is my point, he is a solid #2 receiver with solid skills. With his combine performance (decent 40 time, size, polished route running) people are talking about drafting him higher than what I believe his place in the league dictates. If he is a solid #2, he should go in the third or fourth round, i.e. Coles, Cotchery etc. Taking him with anything in the first two rounds would be a mistake because I don't think he will be an elite player. Say what you want about Pryor, but Nicks by comparison put up his numbers with the second string QB at UNC starting the majority of the season. In addition, the other top wideout Tate went down with a torn ACL, so he was double covered and he still found a way. That is a wideout worthy of a pick in the first two rounds, as is Maclin, Harvin, Britt or Crabtree. To me, Robiskie is not in this group.

Join the bandwagon. I have been touting Nicks for awhile. I love this kid. He just screams 'Professional'. He is going to be scary good when all is said and done, and i hope its with the Jets. I think he is the BEST WR in this class. I know that is not the consensus opinion, but that is my opinion. Not to take anything away from the others, but this guy will do the best in the NFL in mho. Time will tell.

Whats the deal with this Knox kid? He really opened some eyes with that unofficial 4.2 40. You say he runs great routes...what are his hands like? Where do you see him getting selected (will Jets have a chance to grab him in the 4th or 5th)?

The kid is bigtime in some circles, teams are drooling at him.

"fixed" is getting old pal. If you want to disagree fine, that's what we're all here to do, but don't be a wiseguy and "fix" my post.

Easy man, i was just being a smart ass, did you read what i wrote?

It wasn't meant to disagree.

Even though Crabtree will be the best WR out of this draft.

Maybe i should have put one of these ghey ;)'s?

Sorry man maybe I overreacted just a bit, it's just that a while back there was a lot of "fixing" going on and I found that annoying as hell. we're cool.
