Anyone else notice this guy at combine?

He's had himself a great offseason.

His stock is supposedly climbing.

Can't find any video...partially cause I'm lazy. It's probably out there.

Thoughts on this guy?

6'2 260 with 4.6 speed...

He's got a really sick upside...definitely someone I wouldn't mind adding but kinda sucks cause I've been hearing 2nd round hype...

That spin move is filthy.

Coached by former UVa DC and Houston Texans DL coach Mike London, although he played DE in a 4-3, he's a great athlete. Good fit as a 3-4 rush backer. Great leader on a championship team. One thing though...those moves (bull rush, spin) won't be as effecftive as they were against Montana's tackles. That spin move will result in him on his ass. That said though, he'd be a valuable addition as a situational pass rusher while he learns.

I was thinking the same thing. It wasn't *that* fast. Everette Brown and Evander Hood showed some sick spin moves that you guys should see.

Everyone is going to be wary of the "Gholston Factor" from now on. The level of competition is also a factor with him.

Huh?

You're trying to tell me that it took until 2008 for teams to realize that some rookies will have worse years than others?

So I've been thinking about this guy...which is a lie but w/e I need an intro to this post...and I wonder where guys like Bit and CBNY have him ranked...he really strikes me as the kind of guy who'll rise...and his workouts do have me a little intrigued...can never have too many guys who can rush the passer...well you can but we're not there yet.

I recently thought about the pass rushers in this draft and possible 3-4 OLB prospects and it looks like this is one hell of a deep group. Behind the studs like Brown and Orakpo you still got tons of guys like Sintim, Sidbury, Maybin, English, Ayers or Barwin. Some of them will fall and we might get a steal with a great pass rushing prospect in the second...

Yea I've got it:

1. Everette Brown
2. Brian Orakpo
3. Maybin
4. Barwin
5. Sidbury

I really like Sidbury's athleticism and his workouts really were impressive which helps a DE prospect more than most IMO...just because theres so much to learn when you get in the league it's better to be a freak athlete than not one...which is why I am not a Ayers fan.

Also shows how deep the DE/OLB crop is because I think Sintim could go in the first no problem but like Harris, Ryans, Dansby, and Woodley he might fall out of the first. He's my #6 right now, but it's only right now...

Maybin is extremely overrated on that and any list. He plays fast only at 230.

having seen him up close, Sidbury reminds me of Johnny Abe. excellent pass rusher, horrible run defender. he's a 1 down guy right now. will he ever be more than that, who knows.

the last thing the Jets need is another Bryan Thomas/Vernon Gholston on the roster....

Thats pretty much the worry...the spin move in that video everyone shows when they talk about him wasn't anything amazing to me. Doesn't seem like super explosive. Neither does Clint Sintim, but Sintim already plays LBer.
