Fricken Racoons

Anyone deal with these beady eyed buggers?

Got new sod in my back yard and apparently one of these varmints has been ripping up the sod every night looking for worms. I come out in the morning and the whole back is torn up and I have to piece it back in.

The area now looks like a war zone.:steamin:

I feel like Murray in Caddyshack.

Will a havahart trap snag this beast(s)?

Please weigh in with free advice and sarcastic spirit-killing put-downs

*Timmmeh, I'm not looking for recipes, just eradication advice.

Are you sure it's raccoons and not skunks?

chesapeakejet 09-11-2009 04:06 PM

Probably a have a heart will work BUT here's the kicker. Supposedly, you have to take them 50 miles away to dump'em b/c they have an uncanny sense of direction and will find their way back.

Above Leroy? Was there supposed to be a comma in there, or am I looking for a dude named Leroy with racoon eradication tips floating over him?

Yep they are smart buggers. I have a huge problem with them and I live in the city. They love to knock my garbage cans over then spread it over an acre. I went and got locks for the garbage cans but the damn things figured out the combination

Only one answer, rent a trap and drive them 50 miles away to release them.

Have you ever seen a raccoon in a trap? I don't want them in my car or even trunk.

Frankly, my man, I don't see you brave enough to walk over and pick up the trap.
