The single most ridiculous contract ever.

I knew that the Chargers tendered Darren Sproles a 1st & 3rd round tender, and I knew that meant that he would make really good money this year, but I couldnt believe my eyes whe I read that he just signed his 1 year tender for $7.28 Million Dollars! For a scat-back type of RB, who is not, and never should be a starter, that is crazy money!

Now I know why Leon wants more $.

The Knicks owe Eddy Curry 18m next year.

My vote.

When you have Scott Layden and Isiah Thoman run the show back to back that's what you get.

I thought of him right away but I'd actually put him in a close battle with JaWalrus Russell.

Dirtstar 04-03-2010 02:28 PM

"JaWalrus" -- LMAO :D

as worthless as Gholston has been, J. Russel takes the cake for worst contract in the NFL... and then eats it!!!

They'd be 1-2 for sure.

But Gholston's not only has zero career sacks, but he's never even had a quarterback hit. That's pretty tough to do.

Sproles will get his chance to show what he's got this season. But he is not a starter and the Charges are going to look like fools at the end of this if they don't pick up a #1 RB in the draft.

How much and for how many years did the Pin$triper$ pay Carl Pavano for his stay on the DL?

James Hasty 04-03-2010 03:07 PM

How soon people forget the extensions we gave to Curtis Martin and Vinny Tetaverde.

You're right... there are obviously many crazy-ass, bloated, mistake contracts out there, but the intention of this thread was to focus in on Sproles.

By the way, Pavano's contract, believe it or not, was actually quite reasonable at that time. Up until he signed with the Yanks, he was a productive and healthy pitcher.

I never did..;)

IHATEDOLPHINS 04-03-2010 04:18 PM

He was a solid player but Allan Houston's 100 million dollar contract was pretty bad.

I think a current bad contract is Matt Cassel's..sorry I don't think he will ever be a very good player. He had a good half of a season with a loaded Pats offense.

Then again I said Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco would be busts

Imagine the guy that traded for Eddie Curry and how much he made.

Infact didn't Isiah get an extension as well after that cheap playoff appearence!
