Time to dust of the signs tea partiers!
This is why we are so F. SS and Medicare are untouchable because we all have paid into it for what was advertised as a guaranteed pension. They even send me statements every year just like my private pension plans do telling me how much I put in and what I'm entitled to.
What they failed to tell everyone is without the government being fiscally responsible Medicare and SS would either not live up to its obligations or the government would have to inflate the currency and not report the corresponding inflation in order to destroy the value of the benefit.
The Ryan plan cuts benefits that people expect. The Presidentís plan cuts benefits that people expect. Seniors who have paid into this system for decades arenít going to be rolled over by the ugly facts that Democrats and Republicans have been so irresponsible with their money that their benefits no longer exist as advertised.
Both Ryan and the President kick the savings down the road. Down the road the Congress and the President will face the same problem with the electorate they face now as the reason to kick it down the road. The projected savings that the CBO, the President or Paul Ryan tells us are going to happen is nonsense.
When we are all crushed by inflation and our worthless currency real painful austerity is going to be needed.
Have you considered cutting down on drinking and growing up?
Lots of cane shaking going on there!
Good for the old timers. They worked all their life and now some snot-nosed know-it-all kid tries to explain why they don't deserve their benefits.
Democracy in action.
this is the left's answer to what took place last year at town hall meetings??? lmao.....
wait till this summer when it comes down on the libs who vote in favor of raising the debt limit...
CONSTITUENT: Iíve been around this area for quite a long time but once all the factories moved out and thereís no work for our grandchildren or children to get jobs. And if they did have have jobs and those factories were open if you applied a tariff on companies that left, they would come back, or our government could take the money they have and reinvest in the factories that are still here and get apprenticeship programs for people like electricians, pipefitters, plumbers, sheet metal men and put it back to work. You would have the money you need to balance all that. [referring to the budget] (applause from the audience)
RYAN: I agree with the first ó I totally agree with that sentiment. First of all the tax system we have is a corrupt system it doesnít work. It benefits a handful of people and businesses at the expense of everybody else. What I would say is letís get rid of the tax shelters that letís some pay get away with paying no taxes Ė
CONSTITUENT: Do it first! (cheers from audience)
RYAN: Come on, itís not worth the peanut gallery. Letís clean up the tax code and lower our tax rates. The reason why I say, the presidentís commission said the same thing, weíre taxing our businesses our employers, a lot more than our competitors are taxing theirs Ė
(Audience boos, hisses)
CONSTITUENT: Heís lying!
RYAN: If youíre yelling I just want to ask you to leave. Itís just not polite.
I think we should end the wars today withdraw troops from most of the world and take a chain saw to the military.
Granted when it comes to war and the military the Republicans won't touch it. On the other hand what is the justification of expanded wars and expanded entitlements under the Democrats that is absolutely maulling the middle class with inflation.
End the Wars, End Millitary Basing in places like Germany, S.Korea and Japan, and do a top-to-bottom evaluation of Millitary spending and programs to ensure we're #1 in tech. and lethality in conventional service, while being as cheap (and as safe for the troops) as possible.Quote:
Rather than reduce wasteful miiltary spending a penny.
Does that sound like "not reducing millitary spending a penny"?;)
