Dear Rex: What's the point of eating the clock in the 1st Q?
So, we're going to set the All-Time record for fewest points scored in the first quarter (for an NFL HC) while eating up the most amount of time - yes Rex?
Ok, so, where does this leave us? It leaves us with a close game thats SUPPOSED to be low scoring with us pulling it out in the 4th every week - CORRECT Rex? 1) The team that scores first has a 74% chance of winning in the NFL and the team that scores 2 TD's in the 1st Q has a 86% chance of winning - CORRECT Rex? 2) If you wanna keep a game close in the 4th, that means your D better have good subs or be relatively "fresh", but Rex, they CAN'T be fresh because the game is so darn close - CORRECT Rex? 3) You cannot expect to contend for a 1st place seating if the game is ALWAYS close in the 4th - CORRECT Rex? Bellicheat thanks you Rex. 4) Never mind the top D's, in a SB you would face a TOP O - then what? You cant score in the 1st and youre down 14-0 after 15 minutes. CORRECT Rex? You go and hug Schotts there Rex - the most over-hyped over-valued OC in the league - BAR NONE! Ok, Rex? ;) |
You're an idiot

What the heck are you talking about?
You're saying a slow methodical drive is bad? And oh, mr. stats man, if there's an 86% chance of winning if you score 2 TD's in the first quarter, what's the chance of winning if you *don't* score 2 TD's in the 1st quarter? I'm going to guess about 49%... |
Dumb threads are dumb.

i actually agree with Schroy.
controlling the tempo of the game and winning the time-of-possession battle is completely overrated. especially on the road in a hostile environment. it's better to try to turn the game into a shootout, especially since our offense is mediocre at best. |
