ESPYs
Good opening monologue, lots of Tebow and a Sanchez joke of course.
Even better, a Spygate joke in the first 5 minutes. lol Can't make this stuff up. Jessica Biel...holy leg show! http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/...93_634x800.jpg |
Even on perhaps the slowest TV night of the year, I can not bare myself to tune into ESPN jerking itself off for 3 hours on tv.

Thanks jetstream23. I'm more of an NFL Network type of guy, but ESPN or not, I've always enjoyed the ESPY's dating back to my childhood days, just a sports fan in general. Thanks for the reminder, had no idea this was on tonight. I just tuned as as Nas was performing. A true Queens legend.

This story about Legrand brought tears to my eyes, a truly emotional story. I said a prayer, asking to let him walk again. He's worked so hard, he deserves to rise out of this chair
|
Yeah, of course, this show is about one-third ESPN self-loving, one-third sports entertainment, and then one-third of putting sports and life in perspective. The Pat Summit tribute, the Eric Legrand award....truly good stuff.
No one's forcing anyone to watch. This is the slow point in the entire sports year, hence why ESPN schedules the show in early July when football, hockey, basketball are all done and baseball hasn't yet entered the final stretch. So yeah, I watch it and I thought Rob Riggle was funny...but hey, that's my sense of humor. And who doesn't appreciate a good spygate joke just 1:15 into an awards ceremony?!?! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkRwxJqlPtw |
THE slowest sports night every year. Not one single sport on TV.
September can't get here fast enough... |
The Pat Summit piece was very worthy.
|
And the Linsanity joke...What an amazing story, Jeremy Lin...It's always heartwarming to see an Asian kid graduate from Harvard, move to New York and make millions of dollars....$28 million!...or as his fellow Harvard graduates say, a good start! lol

Good to see Sanchez laugh at the "Good luck with that, Sanchez" in reference in Tebow being his shadow all season, joke. Thought he might swell up into tears knowing his past, but maybe he's added more than a little muscle this off-season. I truly think these two can work together to win a lot of games for this organization, and I have been one of Sanchez's biggest critics over the years. With Tebow bringing the running game back to prominence, Sanchez can manage the game up there with anyone.

But then I'd have to draw the line there. |

Not for nothing, but Tebow is looking LARGE!!!

Tebow humble as ever
I don't want to over talk Tebow as much as the next guy, but I gotta say I was impressed by Tebow at the ESPY's. There's a video recap here - classy http://www.nyjets101.com/2012/07/12/...r-best-moment/

Did anyone catch Brian Wilson on the red carpet? His interview was hilarious...can't find it anywhere online now....but if you catch it, its worth a watch.
