Why should the Jets be interested? So Addai can pick up blitzes? That's about all he can do at this point in this career.
If the Pats, with their below-average backfield, didn't at least wait until August to cut him, what does that tell you?
The only issue with Joseph Addai is he sucks.
He wasn't healthy in mini camp.
The Patriots are doing their testing to see who is in shape today. I wonder if he failed since he's being released today.
wow
Lawfirm -gone goodbye and now they've released Addai
Tammi is going to have to throw for 7000 yards this season with NO running game whatsoever
Addai is a good blitz picker upper (LOL). ;) I can't imagine how slow he actually is for the Patriots to think he's worse than the other RBs already on their roster, who are all 3rd down backs, at best.
Pats dumping the only vet RB right before training camp says good things for Ridley and Vereen... they will be carrying the rock this season, get used to them.
My brother went to the U of Louisville, and is also a huge Jet fan. He told me that UL had a great RB and that he reminded him of Joseph Addai. That guy was Bilal Powell. Let's see what we can get from Powell (and/or McKnight), and pass on the older, possibly washed up Addai.
I'd be more interested in Anthony Dixon when he gets waived by the 49ers. He will get waived by the 49ers unless Brandon Jacobs absolutely blows ... which, I guess, he very well could.
I think the offense is going to be Gronk and Shiancoe at TE. Llyod split wide with Welker in the slot and Hernandez at RB.
Unstoppable.
Looks like Larsen may get the job now that Addai is gone. Lead blocker, ST player and LB in an emergency.
Pats haven't used a true FB for a couple of years.
Have any pats RB's left the pats and succeeded anywhere else?
My guess is the law firm does very little in Cincy.
Pats RB's have always been a product of Brady's talent as a QB.
Woodhead is a prime example.
Never thought BJGE was great, but the dude never fumbled. At least we can expect more turnovers by Pats runners this year.
Sorry, Spectre. You know I'm one of the the first Jet fans on here who will give the Pats their credit, but as far as RBs go, they're just not good. Period. Ridley may be your best back, which I would even dispute in favor of Woodhead in certain spots, but they're all simply not good. They're average RBs, at best, on a good day.
What do you base them being "good", if they couldn't supplant BJGE when he was here? It's a downgrade.
If they get a significant number of touches this season, I'll welcome it, because it means they're not going far, and it keeps the ball out of the Brady Bunch's hands.
