Failed TV Series

What was the TV series that failed do you think had the potential to be great? I'll say 2 season max. I know there will be a lot to say Firefly so beside that.

Mine is without a doubt a show called Raines. Jeff Goldblum played a detective that would get into the mines of the victims of his cases. So much so he would see them as he solved and imagine having conversations with them. It was an actual original idea IMO. Not a ghost but just a mentally psychotic person that could really get into the minds of victims. Really try to find it on line and watch the Child predictor episode. You will cry I don't care who you are. This would have been a touching series that explore the dark side. It was done well I don't know why they didn't give it a real shot.

I will also give mention to the shows The Dresden Files and Whoops. Both had kinda stupid stories but had great comedy value. The Dresden Files was basically imagine Harry Potter grown up and is an alcoholic detective who killed his uncle. Whoops was total BS but was funny as heck. I can't even describe it you just had to see it. It was just a show made to be bad. It was great.

Andy Barker PI

It was HILARIOUS and got cancelled.

Not a failure, but taken off the air way too soon...

Arrested Development

Can't wait for the new season on Netflix.

Then the movie next year.

Fox is filled with a bunch of f*cking retards. A show like Arrested Devolopment only makes it 3 seasons but The Cleveland Show is still on the air.

Firefly is very definition of this.

I'll offer up four right off the top of my head:

-Wonderfalls
-Dead Like Me
-Pushing Daisys

All brilliant and quirky, critically loved, and all died too soon.

-Odyssey 5

The best Conspiracy/Sci Fi/Scary show ever, vastly better than X-Files. Never even made it to the end of it's first season, was too early in the "New HBM/Showtime Original Programming Era".:(

OH, and a HUGE MASSIVE +1 to "Better Off Ted". That **** was brillaint.

Life on Mars

The Firm

The Job. Had it succeeded, we probably never would've gotten Rescue Me.

Max Headroom.

I watched that show just to get a glimpse of Amanda Pays (Mrs. Corbin Bernsen).

Problem is that the show was at least 10 years before it's time. Not enough people were on the internet back then. Loved the entire concept.

Recently, there was a cancelled sitcom on ABC called Better With You. I thought the show was hilarious, had a great cast, and showed potential.
