Ryder Cup

Just starting

Just looked at the morning's line-up. Bad feeling. Garcia, Westwood, Poulter...these guys are Ryder Cup snipers.

We have dopey Phil going:(

Looks like PC Richard had a sale on leaky microwaves

Tiger Woods just starts his day with one of the worst tee shots I've ever seen.

I wish Fowler was on the team instead of Woods

Dufner and Johnson off to a good start.

If Furyk/Snedeker can at least halve their match against N. Ireland, that would be a huge boost.

That may be the downfall of this team - the big hitters' putting. If Bubba and Dustin can putt well this weekend, the Americans take it, IMO.

I just tried to get the live feed in my office - no dice.

I have it split screened on my computer with the rydercup.com and espn coverage.

I just got back last night from a work trip to northwest Chicago. Ryder Cup stuff everywhere.

Met a friend for lunch. She volunteered at the RC on Wednesday all day and, as a reward, got a free pass to any round. She's going to watch live on Sunday. So jealous!

I have a little 10-inch TV on in my home office and the RC on in the background.

Putz.

That was easy. See?

i've seen two Tiger Woods shots and they've both been embarrassments.

Bonhomme Richard 09-28-2012 10:17 AM

Dammit, I wish I was at home watching this.

I thought Fowler would be a shoe-in as a captain's pick considering his performance 2 years ago. Sucks that he's not out there. Tiger is awful, by his standards, in this event. And the US's only win since '99 has been without him.

But who do you leave off as a Capt pick? Furyk? Not sure I would do that. There were too many qualified guys this year, unfortunately for Ricky. He would have a perfectly legit pick, but I can't argue with what DL3 went with. DJ is too talented to leave off and Stricker is perhaps the US's best putter.

It's always tough for the captains to make the picks and everyone on the team had better years than Rickie so you basically have no choice but to pick them. As for Furyk, he had a great year and I know it sounds harsh, but his poor finish at the Olympic Club doesn't leave me with a ton of confidence in him.

Cosign....I like Furyk, think he was a shoe in to be chosen, but can't say I have the utmost confidence in him.
