Iceberg Hunters...So Apparently This Is Like... A Real TV Show

I saw the commercial on the Weather Channel and thought for sure this had to be some sort of joke.

Then I was like

The Richards family starts to worry as they have to travel farther and farther out to sea in order to find an iceberg. Follow the crew as they continue the hunt.

Each spring the Arctic Circle releases thousands of skyscraper-sized icebergs that flow into the North Atlantic Ocean. Strong currents push these dangerous icebergs toward the coast of Newfoundland, where they form the most densely-packed gathering of icebergs on earth: a deadly obstacle course known as "Iceberg Alley." The treacherous waters are avoided at all costs by boat captains, except for a little-known group of "iceberg hunters." These brave men search out, wrangle and harvest the ice, bringing it back to land and selling it to water bottling plants.
wrangle ice?
seriously?

guess it's somewhat more interesting than Dance Moms and the other putrid crap of reality shows on some channels :P

This concept was actually introduced in the movie Brewsters Millions. It basically served as one of any absurd ideas he latched on to in order to throw away his inheritance money.

They wanted to put a motor into an iceberg and sail it up to the middle east to bring water to those "thirsty arab farmers". I guess fast forward 25 years, they figured it out.

Iceberg water must be good.

Thanks to Obama and his cronies, we can expect more of this.

Remember when Hamas almost blew up Zionist rapper "Ice" Berg?

Hmmm.... less of a loss than those incurred by people selling back their PSLs.

Can a show about iceberg hunters actually become popular?

That seems unwise.

Ruby2 10-05-2012 02:41 PM

They should combine this show with the conjoined twins show.

Conjoined Twin Iceberg Hunters = Win

frostlich 10-05-2012 02:42 PM

How does the suspense angle work on that show?

Stay tuned next week. IceBerg moves another inch...OR DOES IT?!?!

How does one hunt an iceberg? Do you sneak up on it or do you stand there motionless waiting to pounce as it slowly drifts by?

crossfire 10-05-2012 02:50 PM

When asked why he climbed the phallic iceberg, Stokes had only these words to say...

"Because it's there"
