Jets ran for 252 yards. However, 2 RBs were injured. Powell has dislocated shoulder, per source. McKnight has ankle inj. MRIs for both today With Bilal Powell expected to miss Week 7 vs Patriots with shoulder injury, it's likely Jets will call up Jonathan Grimes from PS. #nyj |

NYJETSCAP: Jets player snap counts against the Colts and totals for the year
Jets player snap counts against the Colts and totals for the year. Some changes on defense in the blowout.
Not alot to talk about on offense. Dustin Keller saw action on 75% of the snaps in his return, which did cut down on Cumberland's snaps a bit, but the Jets used both players. WR Stephen Hill only saw action on 28% of the snaps and this may be a situation where he has to re-earn his playing time, though the Jets were never looking to pass this past week which may have also played a role. If there is a player who has lost snaps its Konrad Reuland, which is probably due to both Keller and the teams preference for Lex Hilliard at fullback. Defensively there were alot of changes. I dont know how many happened early and how many were score related but the Jets significantly diminished the roles of Bart Scott, Calvin Pace, Mike DeVito and Bryan Thomas. Prior to this game the averages for those players, when active, were 80%, 97%, 61%, and 38% respectively. Their playtime fell to 82%, 48%, 42%, and 32%. There were replaced by Quinton Coples, Aaron Maybin, Demario Davis, who all recorded season highs by a gigantic margin. The Colts passed alot so the Jets were more in pass rush and coverage fronts, which is why the secondary had alot of faces, but this was a pretty big drop even by those standards. New faces to play this week were Isiaih Trufant, Antonio Allen, Dan Muir, and Nick Bellore. Could this be the start of a changing of the guard for the Jets? Here are the percent of downs played by our offense and defense in week 6, plus the cumulative percent of snaps on the year.: http://www.nyjetscap.com/2012_Post/j...splaytime.html |

They say my Big bro Cro doing a Impersonation of my other big Bro Revis....Cro doing Cro...as I say...even thou Revis is Rev....JETS 26 |
Slauson and Mangold both had great games yesterday. Mangold looked a little slow on one screen pass when he was pulling but other than that he looked like Mangold from 2009. Jason Smith was manhandling the small Colts DEs.
Only player who did not block well yesterday was Cumberland. |
Rich Cimini @RichCimini
Playing-time analysis posted soon. Thoughts: Rookies Coples, Davis, Bush, Allen had season high snap counts on defense. #Jets Only 6 snaps on offense for Tebow. Brings season total to 50 snaps. Making more of an impact as a personal protector. #Jets Only 18 snaps for Stephen Hill. Heavy workload for Dustin Keller, back from hammy -- 48 snaps. #Jets |

Allen, Demario and Coples all need to steadily have their snaps increased.
Personally Im very happy Allen got his feet wet vs the colts, because we are going to need him to help in a BIG way vs the Pats TEs sunday. He also was used a few times as a blitzer and was able to get to Luck. I honestly dont care if the youngsters make a couple more mental errors then the vets would....I just want their speed on the field. In a side note, there was a thread over the weekend where Petine said that Demario was showing HUGE leadership and actually addressed the team before the Texans game - LOVE to see that, we desperately need more leadership, especially on defense. |

Playing-time analysis: Defense
A breakdown of the defensive snaps from Sunday's game (based on a total of 71): DEFENSIVE LINE Muhammad Wilkerson -- 55 snaps/77 percent Quinton Coples -- 55 snaps/77 percent Mike DeVito -- 30 snaps/42 percent Daniel Muir -- 12 snaps/17 percent Damon Harrison -- 7 snaps/10 percent LINEBACKER David Harris -- 66 snaps/93 percent Calvin Pace -- 58 snaps/82 percent Aaron Maybin -- 36 snaps/51 percent Bart Scott -- 34 snaps/48 percent Demario Davis -- 30 snaps/42 percent Bryan Thomas -- 23 snaps/32 percent Garrett McIntyre -- 8 snaps/11 percent Nick Bellore -- 5 snaps/7 percent SECONDARY Antonio Cromartie -- 71 snaps/100 percent LaRon Landry -- 71 snaps/100 percent Yeremiah Bell -- 71 snaps/100 percent Kyle Wilson -- 70 snaps/99 percent Ellis Lankster -- 49 snaps/69 percent Antonio Allen -- 11 snaps/15 percent Josh Bush -- 10 snaps/14 percent Isaiah Trufant -- 9 snaps/13 percent Analysis: The lopsided outcome allowed some veterans in the front seven to get a rest. In fact, Harris missed his first snaps of the season ... This was a big day for the rookies, as Coples, Davis, Allen and Bush recorded season highs in terms of snap counts. In fact, it was Coples' first start. Allen made his NFL debut, covering the tight end ... This was by far Maybin's busiest day of the season ... Muir made his Jets debut. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jet...medium=twitter |
Playing-time analysis: Offense
A breakdown of the Jets' offensive snaps from Sunday (based on a total of 64): QUARTERBACK Mark Sanchez -- 60 snaps/94 percent Tim Tebow -- 6 snaps/9 percent RUNNING BACK Shonn Greene -- 42 snaps/66 percent Lex Hilliard -- 22 snaps/34 percent Bilal Powell -- 14 snaps/22 percent Joe McKnight -- 8 snaps/12 percent TIGHT END Dustin Keller -- 48 snaps/75 percent Jeff Cumberland -- 36 snaps/56 percent Jason Smith (OT) -- 22 snaps/34 percent Konrad Reuland -- 4 snaps/6 percent WIDE RECEIVER Chaz Schilens -- 50 snaps/78 percent Jeremy Kerley -- 40 snaps/62 percent Stephen Hill -- 18 snaps/28 percent Jason Hill -- 13 snaps/20 percent Antonio Cromartie -- 1 snap/2 percent Analysis: Greene was right when he said he's the No. 1 back; this was his highest percentage of snaps since Week 1 ... So much for bringing back Keller slowly after his hamstring injury ... Reuland almost disappeared with the return of Keller ... The coaching staff really likes Hilliard. Wonder if John Conner knows about Wally Pipp ... Stephen Hill didn't start and was limited to spot duty after a two-week hamstring injury ... C Nick Mangold played in 58 snaps/91 percent, leaving late to rest his sore ankle. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jet...medium=twitter |
