Soldiers have always had health care, including mental health care. Major Hasan of Fort Hood was a mental health specialist after all. Mistake there.
There is plenty of care both in theater and stateside.
I believe a great deal of the problem is the use of National Guard and Reserve troops to the extent the have been.
Next PK will be saying "They won't replace arms for amputees".
