the jets are notorious for bringing guys back look at some of the slackers they brought back this year. the guys i mentioned arent the reason why we arent winning football games.
slauson is a solid lineman who doesnt commit penalties
bell is having a decent year seems to always be around the ball
greene needs to be paired up with a burner rb for ground and pound to work
keller arguably top 15 in the league at te ashame sanchez and sparano dont know how to utilize him
Landry, Folk, Devito are also FA. And most posters figure Pouha and both Smiths will be cut.
And why do you think those 4 will return? and not be off to greener $$$ pastures
You forgot to add Landry to the list. Also, even though he won't be gone we will likely be looking to replace Sanchez.
Here is more of a full list.
Austin Howard is a RFA and will get a 1 mil tenure. He'd be an OK BU IMO.
Maybe
Yeremiah Bell - Not hard to resign he just has to want to.
Dustin Keller - Will be costly for a TE will he give a discount? Draft a 5th round TE as a #2 option.
Laron Landry - Cheaper to keep then we think. Would be my #1 priority though.
Brandon Moore or Matt Slauson - One will be back. Moore is better but older so cheaper.
Bryan Thomas - Worth a vet min deal as a BU IMO. Right now may actually be our best OLB.
Darrelle Revis or Cro - I just have a feeling one of the two will be traded to either make more cap space or to add draft picks. If anyone is willing to give up a 1st for Revis I'll take it.
Sione Pouha - Cap cut. We have gotten good play out of the 2 young guys we have.
Tim Tebow - If we can get something back I'm in. wishful thinking
McElroy - Gone to make room for our next starter. HOPEFULLY
Sanchez - See Tebow. I am more in for just cutting our losses and just cutting him and taking the hit at this point.
Gone
Mike DeVito - gone
Nick Folk - gone maybe
Shonn Greene - gone
Aaron Maybin - gone
Chaz Schilens - gone
Jay Richardson - gone
Calvin Pace - gone
Eric Smith - gone hopefully
Jason Smith - gone
Bart Scott - gone
the jets will retain cro and revis the 2 best cbs in the nfl.

ERFA-
1. CB Isaiha Trufant
12 UFA's, 4 RFA's, and 1 ERFA; 17 total free agents whom contracts are expiring. Based on the 53 man roster for 2012 all 17 players present pros and cons to being brought back, but all 17 players do or did have individual roles on this team though in 2012.
2013 EXPECTED SALARY CAP REALEASES-
Only 4 contracts are worth shedding but they are 4 that are worthy of makings the moves for the money it will save. A player like RT Jason Smith, or even SS Eric Smith could always be retained at a cheaper price for special teams and leadership.
RT Jason Smith brings the biggest savings of the off-season with $12 Million dollars coming off the books clean with a zero cap hit when Smith gets the axe. If the FO liked what they saw in '12 he is young enough with a high enough cieling to be considered worth a roster spot in Wayne Hunter's old "swing" tackle role.
ILB Bart Scott would save $5.5 Million off the cap. This is why I feel the talk of him getting released prior to this year was crazy. Waiting for 2013 saved us with $1.5 Million cap hit and a $7 Million savings. Demario Davis will be primed and ready by then.
ROLB Calvin Pace represents a $5.5 Million savings by cutting the underwhelming OLB in 2013. A cap hit of $3 Million would be dead money, but it would come with a savings of $8.5 Million. The Outside Linebacker position will be hurting but will be a draft day fix for sure, right?
SS Eric Smith would be a savings of $3 Million if the team would need to shave off a little more space for a big move. Smith can be cut with no cap hit whatsoever, and is just a must for the money saved much alike Jason Smith's deal above.

POSSIBLE 2013 CAP ROOM-
- $4-$6 Million cap credit from the 2012 salary cap left over money. This number surely can fluxuate due to injuries in the season but if the roster is not tweaked with any type of sizeable contract $5 million is a number that is feasable.
- CB Darrelle Revis getting "paid" as some would say would actually help the Jets. All hands on deck because it is time and maybe overdue for getting the long term deal both he, an the fans have been craving. The key to this negotiation is getting the deal that will lock him in for the long term and not just one that will get by. Revis getting that deal with the Jets cutting a sizeable chunck up front can give a little wiggle room cap wise in the form of $3-$5 Million.
- C Nick Mangold can do the restructure that has almost become expected when "long term" deals are signed now. Mangold is not only the type of guy and player that would do this, but again to get this done Woody Johnson is cutting a nice check to turn salary into bonus and who turns down a multi million dollar check? Mangold could releive anywhere from $3-$5 Million much alike the Revis cap relief.*

3 POTENTIAL COSTLY SALARY CUTS-
*Only Feasible Players NOT Suggestions
1. WR Santonio Holmes-
Holmes would potentially be $11.25 million in dead money if released, yeilding only a $1.25 million dollar cap relief. This savings *would be nice with how pressing the salary cap situation is, but even though he looks like "addition by subtraction" can we afford to cut Santonio with a huge need for offensive playmakers?
2. ILB David Harris-*
Harris is a release I just could not see, having said that $9 million in *dead money hurts, but $4 million *saved is a free agent or two alone and with our cap situation it is discussable. David looks like he may have lost a step but even with the huge contract "Hitman" has to stay in the middle, right?
3. NT Sione Pouha-
Pouha represents a reasonable $2.3 million dead money hit, as well as offering the best value of the proposed players with $3.85 million saved. Sione signed this deal just last season but back issues are very tricky, let alone on a 325 lbs. man. Can Kenrick Ellis and or Damon Harrison fill these big shoes if need be?

The list keeps going, my point is Cromartie is a real good cornerback but by no means is he the 2nd best in the NFL.
Cheers!!
slauson will be cut for sure.he is not the same player since his injury.bell was a mistake for the jets to sign him.miami cut him for a reason.keller is an over rated player.he is not worth the money the jets are paying him.the jets had better wakeup soon.or they will be the laughing stock of the n.f.l.
the bottom linr is that the jets are in trouble.thanks to the jets front office and coaching staff.
