Eh idk, even if we do get some prospects this team is going nowhere for the foreseeable future.

Might as well have an ace to root for.

Congrats Dickster.

Inappropriate in this thread.

Good for him. Seems like a humble, stand-up guy. Congratulations.

How bout those Mets? A perfect game and a Cy Young award in the same year.

A no-hitter, not a perfect game.

BleedGnW 11-14-2012 07:52 PM

And David Price for the AL :)

Oh right, my bad. Nevertheless, the irony is the same.

Wow. I was way wrong about this one. Congrats to him.

Hard not to root for R.A.

Met him a few years ago when he was a mere possible blip on the Mets pitching rotation. Couldnt have been nicer.

My sopne has his autograph on an old crappy ball...and that makes it all the more cooler.

Congrats Dickster.

That's exactly the reason why you should deal him. His stock can't be higher, he's not a young man, and I may be wrong, but I don't think you can rely on him being an ace moving forward. I think the Mets would be wasting an opportunity if they didn't get themselves some blue chip prospects out of this.

K-Met57 11-15-2012 09:04 AM

did they really just close the segment with the words....

"R.A. Dickey, sexually abused as a child...now wins the cy young"

jeez

Maybe, but he has been lights out for 2+ years...doesnt seem to be slowing down.

An argument can be made either way I suppose... but with a team with so little to root for, losing him would be a big blow.

Knuckleballers have a longer shelf life than traditional pitchers.

i think the Mets need to sit down and ask themselves 3 question...

how long does he have left in the tank

how long before the mets can compete

what can they get for him in a trade

the combination of those 3, should give them the answer they are look for.

personally, i would trade him for the right prospects. the guy is 38 and has 2 good years left MAYBE...the mets are not winning significant amounts of games in the next 2 years.
