When was the last time the Jets had QB play that was this bad?

I have been a fan since 1986 and I don't remember O'Donnell, Esiason or Clemens being this bad. Nagle maybe?

Can any of you old timers remember worse play from the position?

I go waaay back, and the only name that comes to mind is Rick Mirer.

And before that Neil O'Donnell and Bubby Brister.

Brister had the pitch/shovel pass to a Carolina LBer as his signature suck play and Sanchez has the ass fumble. It's finished.

no. I have been a fan since 68. Never saw anything this bad. If any other QB played this bad he would havebeen benched, not given an extension.

Bad QB
Bad Coach
Bad GM

I saw a stat that Asschez is the 34th ranked QB. Can you fathom how bad that is. He is worse than every starter, AND 2 BACKUPS. And that is only against the backups that have played some. He is probably, in reality, worse than most 3rd string QBs.

Rex - He gives us the best chance to win.

Hahahahahahahahaha

I know he won a super bowl and all and he's in the HoF, but go check out Joe Willie #s from 1975. Imagine last night's game pretty much every week.

In '75 Joe was done. Everyone knew it but him. But he won SB3 and made the AFL relevant. He was un-benchable.

The thing is, Joe was great. Asschez never was, and never will be.

It's comparable to Bubby Brister. But Sanchez's play most reminds me of RYAN LEAF. Sanchez is the worst QB this organization has ever had.

I remember seeing that guy in your avatar play. he was as bad or worse then assboy. whenever we saw #18 on the field due to a Namath injury or whatever, we knew the season was over.

Thank you for noticing. Yeah, he kinda brings back bad memories, much like the recent ones.

Not his fault, but the name Jerone Barkum brings back bad memories too. Just b/c he happened to be the wideout when the Jets sucked in the 70's.

Jets career qb rating was 60.3

Rick Mirer's Jets career qb rating 60.4

Need I say more?

I think it is the perfect storm of offensive ineptitude. Bad QB, no play makers, HC who knows nothing about offense, and an OC that really has no clue. When you combine all that is wrong you get an offense that looks like the Jets.

Joe W. Namath 12-18-2012 10:03 AM

This is the worst qb play i have ever seen in the nfl. Any qb playing like this would be benched. So you never get to see this level of ineptitude.

LOL. Yep. But the thing is, Sanchez kept getting worse and Rex kept putting him out there.

freestater 12-18-2012 10:03 AM

I'd take Tom Tupa right now.

124 12-18-2012 10:03 AM

Rick Mirer.

If you're looking for a full-time answer: O'Donnell.

Sanchez, Mirer and O'Donnell, the 3 Stooges. :D
