Hmmm... So I guess Rex isn't sitting in on the GM interviews...
Very interesting...
Great. That's what the head coach of a 6-10 team who just got his GM fired should be doing, that's the message to be sent to the fans.
Taking vacation.

Yeah, we know.
I see no problem with this. I think Rex has made lots of mistakes but I can't fault the guy for taking some time off.
Besides, in keeping with Rex logic (jokingly)
Rex feels that this is the last vacation he will get around the holidays for the next few years since next year's team will be the best ever and get him to the Super Bowl for the foreseeable future. ;)
(just keeping it light)
Update (3:50 p.m.): We regret that we missed an opportunity to connect this to Rich Kotite. According to the New York Post's Mark Cannizzaro, writing in New York Jets: The Complete Illustrated History, it was in those very same Bahamas that Jets then-owner Leon Hess was vacationing after the 1994 season when he heard some fateful news: The Eagles had just fired head coach Rich Kotite.

**ADMIN WARNING: Keep the personal crap off this board. Not relevant**
Understood on the content, not sure why it's not relevant. It goes to decision-making, probably Rex's biggest issue.

Hahahaha...what a circus.
Actually if I was the coach of a 6-10 team who is on a gag order from the owner AND doesn't know who the GM is and whether or not I have a job and know that if I was fired I amto get a 7 figure severance, yep I am DEFINiTLY going on vacation, just as I think you might in a similar situation.
It's business - take the fan emotion out of it.
Again, like the videos, it goes to decision-making and just how bad Rex Ryan is at it.
A public figure should know better than to leave a trail, be it fetishes or vacations. Seriously, you've got millions of Jets fans ready to jump off a bridge and the guy who is responsible is smiling at an airport and going to get some sun on a sandy beach.
He's got the right to do it, doesn't mean he should do it.
SAR I
I used to think that way too, but I don't anymore. It was the earliest sign that something wasn't right with this guy, the beginning of the circus, zany decision-making for a defensive coordinator known by millions of people and bucking for a head coaching job.
It's your site, sorry about posting the videos, didn't know I couldn't, now I do.

You don't think it's exhausting coming up with new ways to appear jackassian? A man needs to rejuvenate!
If Rex is running a circus the members of JI are the animals.
Exactly. It's all about context.
It creates the appearance that Woody Johnson doesn't care enough about the fans to be bothered to hold a press conference, that he fired half the problem and maybe the wrong guy, and is allowing the leader of the disaster to have a swell time on a beach less than a week after the disaster occurred. We're hurting, he's vacationing. We're spitting blood at our Jets hoodies, he's smiling in a Titans jacket.
Again, no matter what the Jets do, it's always creating a bad impression, always humiliating the fans.
