With Ross' interview being over (I assume), they certainly could do so.

Was Caldwell 1st guy they talked to?

NO

I believe he was before Gamble.

This looks like a media plant by his agent. Caldwell has interviewed with the Jags 3 times and it's widely assumed he'll take the job. Probably just wants a slight negotiating bump when talking salary with Shad Khan.

1A and 1B in my opinion. I have said for awhile Gamble was favorite choice, but I would not be upset with Caldwell either. Interesting that a lot of Rumors stated Caldwell could very well bring Greg Roman to Jax as HC. Would he have that same option here?

I'd be happy with either one. And I think Caldwell might be better building an offense.

Despite various reports that have Tom Gamble in SD for GM interview tmrw I'm told by NFL source that is no lock.

The plot thickens!!

Any chance the Jets have a GM by the Presser tomorrow?

Yes

After Michael Vick, the Falcons blew up the team and started again. I believe that was in 2008. Since then, their rise has been meteoric.

Does anyone know how much Caldwell had to do with this?

I don't trust that site anymore. ****'s unreliable.

Dimitroff set up the Front Office like he did with the Pats.

Caldwell was in charge of College Scouting him and the scouts grade the players according to the "system" the HC uses. Coaches then grade the players on film and interviews. Dimitroff then decides who to pick.

This last year he also go the pro scouting responsibilities.

This is what I'm thinking. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense based on what we've been hearing. I'm still pretty confident Gamble will be coming here real soon.

Aren't they suppose to interview a minority candidate also per Rooney Rule. It makes them look like they're still seaching; meanwhile Gamble is on board.

I don't find them very credible either

I hadn't seen the Roman rumors involved with Caldwell. I read that Jax was very high on him and he has a history with Mularkey going back to last season.
