Per NBC..... a week ago or so.

The Rams announced on Twitter Tuesday that Ryan would not be the team’s defensive coordinator in 2013. Ryan was reported to be their choice in early January, something both sides denied, and again last week in a choice that seemed to have more reality behind it. According to the Rams, though, continued discussions with Ryan revealed differences that couldn’t be bridged.

I can't wait for Rob to get here as JI will be out of control. Also if they add Mike Tice it's going to be fun watching the sideline's next season. Can't wait!

There are not a lot of DC openings left. Philly doesn't appear to be headed to a 3-4 defense. The big spot is in New Orleans with the Saints who are going to a 34 defense. If Rob Ryan doesn't get a DC job. The Jets still have an opening at the linebackers and assistant head coaching positions after Bob Sutton left. The media will have a field day if the twins are together in New York.

Tim McDonald is our DB coach.

Still have an opening at LB coach, although Browns' LB guy Bill Davis was interviewed for the job.

I don't think Rob will want to coach under Rex....although he is running short of other options, it seems.

I have no problem with bringing in Rob Ryan as LB coach. All of my cowboy fan friends are still upset the Cowboys let him go.

I think he would make a really good college head coach.

Do you seriously think the Saints would take Rob Ryan over Romeo Crennel or Eric Mangini?

Then let him go to college. Not the Jets.

I don't. I wouldn't rule out Sean Payton hiring someone from The Ravens or Niners staff after the superbowl. Both teams play 3-4 defense.
Rob could re-join the Pats as an assistant coach. The Pats already brought back Brian Daboll. Wouldn't that make for an interesting storyline with Belichick hiring Rex's twin brother.
Like I stated, The Jets have an opening at Assistant Head Coach and Linebackers coach. Two shoes that Rob could fill if the brothers want to do that.

What has Mangini done as a DC? What was he a DC for a year with the pats*? FWIW, Mangini wanted Rob as his DC, so the guy you're saying is better than Rob wanted him to run his defense? Stop talking out of your ass!

It would be funny if The Pats hired Rob Ryan as their new defensive coordinator. He was there and won rings in 2000-2003.

Imagine that Rex going up against Pettine in Buffalo and his own twin brother in New England twice a season each.

It seems crazy but in a year from now, Rex Ryan could be shaking hands with Belichick and joining his staff.
