Bitonti said that Ducasse had no choice but to succeed in the NFL because of the earthquake in Haiti, so all of you are off base in your evaluations. YOU just can't see the GREATNESS because you're NOT a scout.

He seems to be comming around as a depth player:
http://nyjetscap.com/2012_Articles/oleval.html Vlad Ducasse- Ducasse no longer looks like a total disaster on the field which is a major step forward. The last two years you could not even dream of putting him out there without the threat of the QB getting his head taken off. Still in pass protection he would grade out right near the bottom of the NFL for guards. Ducasse allowed 4 less pressures than Slauson in 234 less snaps. There is no comparison between the two. A backup type player. |
Pass blocking needs work but he's above avg in run blocking.

He's keeping a roster spot warm for Chance Warmack

He adds good depth at G. Hope he's not a starter next year.

Short story: America has no "official" language. Therefore, the state of NY has recently declared that it must staff sufficient translators in 9 Languages at every state medical facility to ensure the "rights" of indigent patients aren't violated. They are firing doctors and nurses due to budget cuts yet my wife, a state employed psychiatrist, must have a certified translator at every session of an indigent "English as a second language" patient. She is Russian born, yet still has to have a translator for Russian patients since she is not a "certified" translator. Forget the violation of patient privacy, forget the ridiculous cost, this is whiney liberalist PCness at it's best. Ducasse doesn't understand English? Then he doesn't have the basic skills required to be a football player. Gone! Fired! Period!!!! No tears whatsoever. |

But I personally don't know. |

He is an example of a pick that the average JETS/football fan would never make based on his natural ability. To the eye he is slow and confused looking on the field. He brings the skills of an undrafted free agent yet we waste a 2 on him. Someone labels him a development player and well..fish...meet lure. |

My biggest problem now with the Ducasse failure is it may now be a factor in the Jets not drafting another, a far more exciting, developmental BYU prospect, Ezekiel Ansah ...
|
He will be a starting Guard this year. For better or worse.

We took a shot on a very athletic, huge, strong player with a pick in the 58-60 range. He wasnt a top 10 pick, wasnt a first rounder or even a high second rounder....he was a pick at the end of the second round, there is nothing wrong with taking a shot there. Only on this board is a GM supposed to hit on every pick. Ozzie Newsome took jimmys smith who so far in 2 years has been terrible...guess he should be fired. |
