Up and coming players in the league

Offseason begins.

List a bunch of up and coming players in the league. There are the obvious players (RG3, Luck, etc.), but what about some of the lesser known players.

Here are a few who I think are up and coming:

Dennis Pitta, TE Baltimore
Paul Kruger, OLB, Baltimore
Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Atlanta
Vontaze Burfict, LB, Cincinnati

I think these players (and many more) stepped up and will continue their upward trend. They played parts in their respective teams' success. I hope the Jets find a few of these guys to help improve the team.

the jets should have drafted burfict.

Bernard Price - the ravens backup rb
bryce brown - eagles back up rb
- brown needs to stop fumbling the ball but I tell you what when I see these two guys run the ball you can not deny the talent is there. Eventually I think both of these guys will be somebody's #1 rb.

Justin blackmon - as soon as he had qb who can somewhat throw the ball he started putting up huge numbers

Mo wilk - had to do it

Going to respectfully disagree with Jacquuz. I believe he was under 3.5ypc and he is too pint size IMO to be an every down back.

burfict went undrafted ironically and rex the defensive genius missed out again.

Woody56 01-31-2013 09:55 PM

LB Bobby Wagner
LB KJ Wright
RB Robert Turbin
CB Richard Sherman

So did every other coach. The guy was a borderline psychopath who played like crap his last year. People need to stop crying about this.

not crying. but when a team like the jets needed lbs rex should have not left any stone unturned. burfict was that player we could have stole.

He's trying to tell you every single team in the nfl passed on Burfict last year, including the Bengals. After he went undrafted, the Bengaks then took a huge chance on him and it paid off with minimal risk. The guy was a train wreck before the season started.

Way to derail the thread.

RB - Alfred "The Butler" Morris. Overshadowed by RG3.

SS - Harrison Smith.

I think Morris is just another product of Shannahans system. But I'd still put him on that list.

Not disagreeing with you, but why would a RB benefit so much from a pistol formation?

No doubt, RB's truly are one of the most interchangeable positions in the league, but i think Morris deserves a good deal of credit for a sterling rookie season.

T.Y. Hilton
Harrison Smith

Here is a homer(but accurate) pick. He's not necessarily young anymore, but Marshall Yanda may be one of, if not the best, Guards in football.

Came here with TY on my mind also...

Add to that Mo Claiborne (sp?), Sanu, Josh Gordon and the obvious Doug Martin...

Cecil Shorts
Kroy Biermann (not really up and coming, but he had a terrific season well under the radar)
Luke Kuechly (people were saying he was the safest pick in last year's draft, and I think we saw why)
Stevie Brown
Geno Atkins (dude's a ****ing stud, but is now the NFL's worst kept secret)
Bruce Carter (was beastin' before his injury)

I think Doug Martin's an easy one. Josh Gordon is interesting.

Absent of a QB and a few more o-linemen, I'd say we can put together a pretty decent team with all the guys mentioned.
