RE - Coples

DT - Wilkerson

LE - DeVito

OLB - Davis

ILB - Harris or McIntyre

OLB - Mauga

Too Bad jets cant keep secondary together :steamin:

CB - Revis :steamin:

CB - Cro :steamin:

S - Bell

S - Landry :steamin:

:D I like it but there is a possibility that bell and cro will be with the secondary....they showed they can live without revis on defense in 2012....I think they can with Landry gone also.....and there is a possibility that Lnadry comes back for 2013.

DeVito is in no way a 4-3 DE. The problem with switching to a 4-3 is that neither Coples or Mo are fit for the scheme.

McIntyre listed as an MLB is too funny. Why are you steaming about Cro?

Even if we switched to a 4-3, we still need a DE/OLB edge rusher.

Coples is.

And I don't know why people are stuck in this world where you have to be a 3-4, or 4-3, or whatever. I guess because of madden? But the Jets play multiple fronts and were rarely even in a traditional 3-4.

What I like about goin with a 4-3 is it creates one on one match-ups for mo and coples.

Devito is an interior guy and would be useless as an end IMO, but coples comin off the edge would suit him I think. If mo and coples can get pressure in a 3-4 when you are predominantly being double teamed, they should tear it up once they can get a good one on one march-up.

Also think that LB core will look at lot different come week 1.

More realistic version:

RDE - NOBODY (you need a 260-270 pound speed freak in this spot.)

DT - DeVito

DT - Wilkerson (half his skill set wasted on the inside)

LDE - Coples (can get by as a decent 4-3 end on the RT's side)

WLB - Davis (arguably a better fit than as 3-4 ILB)

MLB - Harris (goes from above-average ILB to below average MLB)

SLB - NOBODY (need to cover the tight end and be a tackling machine)

If they were to acquire some picks for Revis, then a dude like Margus Hunt would be a nice RDE fit.

Weak @ DE and MLB. We could live with Coples playing DE if we get a stud on the other side. We would continue to get killed in the middle of the field in coverage. Harris is not a 4-3 MLB. H

Devito would be the worst 4-3 DE in the entire league. He is an interior lineman, thats it.

Coples would be miscast as he is an excellent 3-4 DE. He is significanly more strong then he is fast. Same goes for wilkerson, although his switch would be easier.

Harris would be the slowest 4-3 MLB in the league.

With him and devito in the game, RB screens, WR bubbles screens, and TEs would literally destroy us.

I just don't think we have the personnel to switch to a 4-3 and that likely isn't changing this year. Next year maybe. We would need to spend big money on some cover OLBs. This draft has a lot of good DE/OLB guys but not a lot of pure 4-3 OLBs that can step right in. Not to mention most of the better ones have injury issues. We would also need to take a MLB early in the 2nd. I think Rex should stick with what has been working for him to be honest. We are still somehow a top ten D and that was with an injured Revis, Pouha, and 0 OLBs that are even good enough to be BUs.

It's more about the personnel than where the guys lineup. We need to add a couple athletic players to the front 7 regardless of which D we run as the base. Coples and Mo are perfect 3-4 guys and the D looks to be built around them, Harris can't play 4-3 MLB and Rex prefers a 3-4, so I don't see a change coming.

this front seven sucks!!!
Revis will be gone in a few days.
