For the Mets to return to dominance they have to cut this loser. His mistakes in the outfield are embarasing, and they lead to other errors. Trust me he is the curse of this franchise. Get him out of town, now!

He signed a 4 year deal for around 418 million a couple of seasons ago. So to swallow $9 million by cutting him may be more then the Mets are willing to do.

Unfortunately the last curse of Phillips will be with us for some time barring some freak of nature.

In a case like Cedeno it is better just to take the financial loss and get rid of the guy. His outfield play has to be the worst I have seen in rooting for the Mets for 30 or so years. The negativity he will bring by being on the roster is too muchplay-give the roster spot to a young guy like Duncan who is willing to bust his butt.

And to think i was mad when the Tigers got rid of him :D

The Mets are probably too cheap to do something like that. Eating $9 million is a big deal, and they in all likelyhood will not do it. A trade to someone is the most desireable scenario, if there are any takers out there. He may have some life as a DH in the AL, but who wants him at this point?

I do admire the way you so effortlessly steer the topic from Cedeno to more positive issues with the Mets.

Well done. ;)

Hard to believe this is the same guy who stole all those bases for teh Mets the 1st time around. Now he can't even get on base.

I feel for you.

He's also gotten fat.

So now he cant play defense, hit, or run.

Nice, worst player on the roster if we compare Money-Ability

Oh wait--Mo Vaughn is still on the roster, ok #2.
