this win marks the demise and end of whatever sort of "powerhouse" the Nets were in the past 4 years B)

Icer 12-14-2004 11:09 PM

That demise happened the moment they failed to give K.Martin an extension.

Just a win over a hapless team

OneEyedWonder 12-15-2004 07:17 AM

can't be happier that the Nets 15 minutes of fame has finally run its course. they can go back to their 30-35 win seasons, playing in front of 8-10,000 people per night. oh wait, they were playing in front of 10,000 people on their way to the finals, so that won't really change <_<

JumbalayaJet 12-15-2004 08:45 AM

If Kidd sticks around after he works his way back to his normal minutes, the Knicks have no chance of winning the division. I sense that he'll be shipped out as soon as he's really back, though. I hope Ratner's buildings in Brooklyn fail all the codes.

even with Jason Kidd the Nets wont win the division

the Knicks and Celtics are both better teams overall

JumbalayaJet 12-15-2004 05:23 PM

Kidd's not the only guy banged up. I'm not up on Boston's personel changes, but judging from their record, it's status quo. Knicks made a nice pick up with Crawford, but I don't see him putting them on top.

Icer 12-15-2004 08:44 PM

Please, the Knicks are clearly more talented this year.

It's basically Kidd and Jefferson. Collins is garbage, Williams is ok sometimes. And the rest are nothing to talk about.

I'd be surprised if they won 35 games

Big Blue 12-15-2004 08:50 PM

I was there last night supporting my Knicks. There were more Knicks fans than Nets fans around me

Especially if Kidd can't play 35 minutes a night.

No team should ever go 15 minutes without a FG, on any level.

Carefull, you're talking to a gambler. Such talk might cost you.

Nets are nothing without K-Mart and they will be nothing without him. Kidd wants out and he will be out by the start of next season. The Nets won't make the playoffs and they'll win 35 games max, MAX, I agree with Icer.

Since when won't 35 games win the east?

preludepunk 01-23-2005 02:51 PM

What are you talking about the nets suck? we're 9 games under .500 but 3 games out of the atlantic division lead. In that division, every team sucks so the best "sucker" will win the division. Nets still got a shot cause nobody wants to win a damn game in that division. Plus, we're the only team in the eastern conference on a win streak more than 2 games right now (we're on a 3 game streak lol). We'll prolly lose to the Suns today, but you can't call the Nets out of the hunt yet because you gotta look at the ****ty division they're in.

yes, yes they are.

preludepunk 01-29-2005 05:53 PM

haha let's see at the end of the season. The knicks will fall apart like usual cause they don't play well as a team. The nets, with all their problems at the beginning of the season with kidd out, then jefferson getting hurt, have finally started playing well together and have won 5 of their last 7. Come end of the season, I think the Nets will beat the Knicks in the standings...Granted I'm a net fan too but I think it's definately a possibility cause the knicks have been playing like garbage lately (lost 11 of their last 13)

JumbalayaJet 01-29-2005 05:58 PM

The records mean little at this point. Kidd's got his legs back and the Knicks have come apart like a cheap suit. The Nets beat the Celts last time, and just beat a couple of banged up west coast squads with a roster of 8 players, 2 of which don't even belong in the NBA. We're ba-a-a-ck!

Haha I laugh everyday at the Atlantic Division. With all the problems we have had this offseason and regular season so far, we're still 3 games out of the division lead, so I say, regardless of the outcome of this season, the nets have had a productive season. I'm still excited about this season but more excited about what we do next season. Krstic is coming along nicely if he just stops fouling the hell out of people and if we can get a decent PF in the draft, we'll have a nice line up.

P.S. Jumbalaya, off topic, but you see the RU/Nova game today? Thank god I wasn't there cause I would have been furious!

Lucky for me I'm stuck in work all day. It's really too bad we have no size to support the backcourt. Not gonna be a good season for the men's team, I'm afraid. I think Lester Lyles(Nova fan) went. I'll be at the RAC to check out the girls 2/13 vs. UCONN.
