Fabini at guard in a few years? what do you think?
 

His back is falling apart and is getting slower and slower protecting the edge rushers.

I say in 2006 we move him to either guard or we just cut him. Jones or Cavka can play LT and RT each so we wont miss a beat. And we will save money getting rid of fabinis contract, maybe let abraham go and sign Freeney in the offseason he will be a FA, fyi.

And take who's G spot, Kendall or Moore? Kendall is only one year older than Fabini and is one of the most consistent G's in the NFL. And Moore is a young player on the rise. No way do I sacrifice either one of those guys for the sake of moving Fabini to G.

A. 2006 is next year (not in a few years)
B. Where have you seen that his back is 'falling apart'
C. Cavka? f-ing Cavka? What have you seen to indicate he will ever start?

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see someone replace Fabini as he is servicable at best. But c'mon man. Cavka?? Think before you post. :bangwall:

What makes you say he wore down last season??? He played in 15 games last season and played well next to Mawae. If anything, he may have helped out Fabini in pass protection against elite pass rushers.

Put Fabini on IR? And lose him for the season? We have enough issues right now with preparing Jones at RT.

Tackles are quicker!!! Are you kidding me with that? Look at Larry Allen and Will Shields! You think they are quicker than Ogden?? NOPE!!!

Larry Allen plays Guard not Tackle. Dallas' starting T's are Jacob Rogers and Flozell Adams.

Get your facts straight man before you post...

fabini had well talked about back problems all last season! He is an avg tackle at best and a decent at best starter! We need an upgrade to protect chad who is injury prone!

Tackles are quicker and more agile than tackles. thats why you see some tackles move to G when they get old because they lost their quickness. you never see a guard move to tackle when he getss older!!!!!

tackles pull 2!! depends on what kinda system you run as well! but most tackles are more agile and quick than OGs!!! common football knowledge joe.

Jason is a veteran player and is getting up there in NFL years. I also think that if (and I do mean if) we take home the Lombardi this year, look for Fabini, Mawae, Martin and a few others vets to ride out their contracts and then ride into the sunset as a SB winner & Jets alumni.

And as for Marko Cavka, watch you say about him around me - or else. :gangster:
