So the U.S. is a Socialist Country today, eh?

Well crap, I better just give up then.

Bring on the Welfare State and 100% Taxation. After all, all wealth only comes at teh expense of someone else, all wealth should be equally distributed regardless of effort and abillity, and the Government knows better than any one person does how their efforts should be rewarded.

You've convinced me Camrade Nuu, I'll be voting Obama in the fall, and doing my best to ensure I am a receiver in the New Socialist Workers Paradise of Obama's Peoples Republik of Amerikovski.
No, it is not a socialist country despite the fact that it has many policies that are inherently redistributive in nature to one degree or another.

Obama's proposals would likely lead to an incremental increase in redistributive policies, not some overthrow of our current system. The idea that he's some sort of "stealth" radical --to use the language from the hillarious wingnut piece you posted-- is absurd, even if he did ACTUALLY KNOW A REAL LIFE COMMUNIST WHEN HE WAS A TEENAGER, as the IBD so damningly points out.

"Bring on the welfare state"? Yes, indeed. Show me again where Obama has proposed an increase in welfare? (The article you posted actually bemoans his support of the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is of course a program designed to get people off of welfare by making low-wage work more lucrative than collecting assistance.)

And, yes, "100% taxation." That's quite an accurate description of the 1990s tax rates that Obama has proposed reinstating.
