Ummm...they don't use salt where I live and we get around just fine. It's called "learning to drive in the winter"...something people living in large cities can't seem to handle. They seem to think that you can drive the same way in the snow as you would in July...jackrabbit starts at every light, weaving in and out of lanes to save yourself 15 seconds on a commute, putting idiotic low profile tires on an SUV because it looks cool. Hell, there are 10% as many 4wd vehicles here in WNY than I saw down in Westchester. I see 80 year old people driving in a lake effect blizzard in Chevy Impalas.
I was next to this dumbass lady once who was spinning all around in her Jeep a few winters ago down in Dutchess county. The idiot didn't realize that she had to hit the button on her dash to go to 4wd. Dee-dee-dee.
