So I was reading the first couple of pages and I had to take this opportunity to re-derail the thread because I've been trying to figure out how to play this version but hit a wall after I figured out the chords:

starts at the 1:17 mark

I think it's in just regular drop D right? And the chords are just A minor and a a sliding C right? But what is the picking/strumming pattern and how does he get the individual notes to scale like that?
