JACKSONVILLE – The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks continue to build strength in the trenches, as the team announced Tuesday that offensive lineman Jesse Padilla has been added to the 2012 roster.
A native of Hawthorne, NJ, Padilla (6’4”, 300) was a three-sport athlete in high school before attending Lafayette College. Padilla saw immediate action for the Leopards, appearing in two games as a freshman during the 2004 season.
The 25-year-old Padilla broke out in a big way during his junior year, starting every game at right tackle before being named to the 2006 All-Patriot League Second Team. The following year, Padilla capped his collegiate career by earning Football Championship Subdivision Coaches’ All-America honors in 2007. In 2008, Padilla spent time in training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.
