And why exactly do we need to send these kids to $1,000/week day care centers? I can find a $10/hour college-aged babysitter any day of the week (this is exactly what I do twice a week). More than likely you can spend less than that in other parts of the country. Can't find a job that at least covers that $10/hour? Stay home and take care of your kid. You already have welfare safety nets in place. Or find a friend or family member that can watch your kid. Act like an adult and find a way - your kids should be your primary concern. Nothing else matters.

This whole thing is possibly the most absurd thing I've ever heard. If there are people that truly believe this is even a viable idea speaks volumes about why we are where we are. Where does it end?

Know what else is expensive? The car I need to drive to work. Maybe I should get that subsidized from the government too. :rolleyes:
