01/24/2012 4:30 PM

JACKSONVILLE – The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Tuesday that defensive back Daylan Walker has been assigned to the team’s 2012 roster.

The 26-year-old Walker (5’9”, 187) most recently had two stints with the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League. Signed by the Lions during the 2010 season, he was re-signed by the club in December of that year before being released prior to the 2011 season. Before joining the Lions, he signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in May, 2010. The Falcons released Walker during training camp.

Walker played collegiate football at Arkansas State University, where he appeared in 45 of the team’s 48 games in his four years. During his senior season in 2009, Walker recorded 51 tackles (40 solo), intercepted a pass and led the Red Wolves with seven pass breakups. The previous year, he totaled a career-high 65 tackles (45 solo), an interception and five pass breakups.

Born in Jackson, TN, Walker attended Milan High School.
