You won't pay more than 5-800$ for a milspec, depending on the manufacturer. I got one for my brother a while ago for 400$. Springfield Armory too.
I have a Kimber TLE. Remember, a 1911 is the "Ferrari" of pistols. High performance, high maintenance required. A TLE is probably over 1000$.

Not a fan of 1911's. Just think, they were invented in 1911, I think technology has evolved. I'll take my H & K USP .45 anyday over a 1911.
