Some on the left would say you're taking away the inherant human right to vote of minorities and women, who they say are the targeted victims of all "voter ID" requirement ideas.
Is ravamping a failing food stamp program racist (even though it is mostly used by whites)?
Some on the left would say you're taking away the inherant human right to food of minorities and women, who they say are the targeted victims of all "food stamp reform" requirement ideas.
Is asking to enforce immigration laws already on the books racist?
Some on the left would say you're taking away the inherant human right to not be hassled because of how you look or what accent you have, specificly minorities and women, they say are the targeted victims of all "immigrantion enforcement" requirement ideas.
Only a moron would believe so. Unfortunately, this country is full of morons.
I wouldn't call them morons. They simply see things very, very differently than you and I, and value things very very differently than you and I.
For us, say, voter ID is iportant, and if one person is wrongly denied teh right to stop 100 from illegally voting, we're ok with that. For them, even one person being denied their right to vote, even if they could have overcome the burden of getting an ID, it's too much to allow such laws to exist, regardless of how many illegal votes may be cast (they believe it to be zero) by not having the law.
