Most Pat fans are pretty much on borrowed time and have already crossed the line (there are of course some exceptions - yourself included, you'll be happy to know). So, I'm not sure that anyone can really argue any type of banning, even if the offending post is relatively benign.
Pats fans are guests here and this is not a democracy with "equal time" afforded. You can govern yourself with care, contribute overall to the community and of course throw in the occasional barb. But if your existence is generally to piss off Jet fans, defend the Pats honor at every turn against every insult thrown out and only occasionally contribute, you can't really argue that you've been mal-treated. Well, you can argue whatever you want, but no one is listening.
And the fact that Sooth riled up Pat fans on their boards in the 90s falls in the category of interesting and irrelevant.
