Interesting to reflect that some 40 years or so later one could argue that the music world, a place that in theory should be fairly egalitarian (seeing as it's full of "egaliatatrian music types") is actually a throwback sexist environment where women are limited to a very few roles. Regardless of the musical genre, if you're a woman you're more or less relegated to being either a vocalist , a singer/songwriter, or a tramp in a video.
Rock/rap music today is some of the most sexist, hateful, commercial, non-progressive stuff you can image. The exact opposite of the 60s ideal.
