I was a Sea Cadet myself. Spent time underway with the fleet and with the USCG during my time. It is an organization that exposes you to what that world has to offer and instills a sense of pride and commitment. The feeling of being a 13-14 year old walking up the gangway to a haze gray hulk of steel to request to come aboard before steaming out for two-three weeks is an unforgettable experience.
