That's it in a nutshell.
Could we have gone out and gotten another Plax/Mason? Sure, but that didn't seem to work out very well last year.
Could we have shot the moon and tried to get an actual core piece for our future? Sure, but I don't think the cap ramifications would have allowed it.
So, if we're simply talking about a stop-gap, I'd rather see what we already have. If the difference is 7-9 vs. 9-7, I'll take that risk.
I'm not arguing we wouldn't benefit from an upgrade in our WR corp -- I guess I just define "upgrade" differently than most . . .
