There's an article out there, from a legit news source too, that shows how many of these lawsuits are filed simply because it is well-documented that the City will likely settle rather than spend the money (read:taxpayer dollars) on fighting what will be a smaller settlement. Much as you and "civil-rights" attorneys want to use some disjointed logic to say that this points to increased police-mongering, all it really does is re-affirm that one of the top-3 things that this country needs to have addressed is tort reform. But keep singing that same chorus of "police are the root of evil oppression', it just makes painting you any color on the loony palette that much easier. And colorful.

There are more bad cops out here that are hurting the good ones. How about getting them off of the force instead of blaming me for their poor work. Bet that would be more productive and save tax payer dollars
