Trident Tech is not a public high school. Its a private school where you pay tuition. You (and others)were talking about vocational programs in high schools as an alternative for kids not academically gifted.

When I went to school they had a trade concentration that students could do.
A variety of potential careers. For both males and females. This was available when my children were is HS as well. Yes, it is a valuable training program. So instead of chemistry, physics, calculus, foreign language etc - trade courses were taken. Some at the school, some at a nearby votech. English, math and history minimum requirements still needed to be satisfied.
In many cases jobs were ready for these students on graduation. Never going to be a bank president but run theoir own auto shop, plumbing company or a variety of options.
