From where I stand, it's still the case. I never got the "hole exploration/penetration" component of hazing (frankly, I never understood hazing period). To me, all the guys who abuse other guys in this way are closeted individuals. Those who stand by as this abhorrent activity takes place are either in the same lavender boat or scumbags.
