I actually could tie this back to why Mark Sanchez hasn't panned out. He probably would blossom under Carroll simply because they are both "No worries brah" guys. Flynn did not get a huge contract, his contract is for about 3 years and 15 mill or less that Sanchez is making in this year alone. Sure he has a 3 year 27 mill contract if he wins mvp and the team goes to the bowl.
Flynn got a 6 mill bonus with 2 guaranteed this year and next. If you paying your starter 650,000 per year you can pay his backup 5 mill.
