The truth is, whether you lose by 3 points or 40 points it's still just ONE LOSS. Same holds true for winning, even though the Patriots won by like 35 points over the Jets it still goes down as just one win. You don't get 2 wins because you really really beat your opponent and you don't get 2 losses because you got your ass kicked. Nobody across the league or any of the sports oddsmakers thought the Jets were going to win last thursday, so the fact that they lost shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, they were scheduled to lose anyway.
We said before the game that the Jets had to go 6-1 over their next seven games to have a shot at the postseason, and none of that has changed. They lost to New England like everyone thought they would and now they need to win their last five like we all knew they had to. They have a schedule that gives them a shot at doing this and they need to take advantage of it, because if they don't Woody Johnson may do exactly what he did to Eric Mangini after a disappointing season and fire the headcoach and start over.
