My free uncoerced decision to attend games and buy gear etc is not predicated on your say-so of its value, or any entitlement to a winning season. That is my hope but I dont attach an ROI
to it any more than I attach an ROI to attending a Broadway show or a meal at a fine restaurant.

Now you are a NYR fan correct? If you are of the advanced age you suggest, you remember how disturbed SORF acted before they won the Cup in '94. That's exactly how SOJFs act today. Perhaps you have like me seen the Jets win it all - I'm sure that has grounded me and inoculated me vs SOJF-dom.
In this season, there are at least 2 losses that came about when the D was playing lights out for a half or more (namely NE, SEA, maybe PIT) but couldn't stay off the field due to the O's spasticity. But let's call those losses a complete team breakdown because they seem worse when viewed in the warped SOJF funhouse mirror way....
