Our schedule is filled with teams that are either great, very good, or terrible. We don't play any other average to below-average teams, except for the Dolphins and Chargers.

This is a good assessment. Rex's D feasts on overwhelmed and/or young QBs, of which we've played a number of them this season. The list of QBs we've beaten are all either 1st or 2nd young players, or very shaky vets:
Fitzpatrick
Tannehill
Luck
Bradford
Lindley
Henne
Quite simply, QBs like the above will rarely beat a Rex D. The offense needs to melt down completely for us to lose those games, and while it certainly melts down sometimes (see 2nd Miami game), it's usually against the better teams, with which we're outmatched anyway.
